Morris and Powers Claim Student Athlete of The Week Honors

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's lacrosse attacker Kassidy Morris and baseball pitcher Callen Powers received UMassFive Student-Athletes of the Week honors, as announced Tuesday. The duo was honored at the UMass Sports Luncheon on Wednesday, April 22 in the Berkshire Room of the Berkshire Dining Commons.

Kassidy Morris scored a career-high eight goals to lead Massachusetts to a key 20-13 victory over St. Bonaventure. The performance, which is tied for the most by any A-10 player in a single-game this season, helped the Minutewomen secure their 14th consecutive A-10 Regular Season Championship and 16th straight season with either a regular season or tournament title.

Callen Powers dealt a complete game on Saturday in the 2-1 victory over George Mason. Tossing nine innings, Powers had a 0.00 ERA, allowing only one run on four hits, three walks and four strikeouts.
