The Minutewomen and Minutemen both finished fourth to conclude the event.

BOSTON  – University of Massachusetts swimming and diving concluded its time at the Terrier Invitational on Sunday evening at the FitRec Competition Pool. Both the women's and the men's team placed fourth in the event.
 
The Minutewomen finished with 761 points, sitting behind Boston University in first with 1,150 points, Northeastern in second with 1,043 points and Bryant in third with 936.50 points. The women's team placed ahead of Fairfield (726.50, fifth), Boston College (716, sixth), Army (66, seventh) and Colgate (29, eighth).
 
The Minutemen totaled 781.50 points, sitting behind Boston College in first with 1,428 points, Boston University in second with 1,288 points and Fairfield in third with 853.50 points. Bryant (742, fifth), Army (82, sixth) and Colgate (53, seventh) finished behind the men's team.
 
Women's Swimming & Diving
 
Preliminaries
Junior Olga Stoura advanced to the C Finals of the 200 backstroke after swimming a time of 2:09.62 to take 17th in the preliminaries. Fellow classmate Beren Cakiroglu placed 12th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.83, while sophomore Courtney Tedesco finished 15th with a time of 52.24 to both earn a spot in the B Finals.
 
In the 200 breaststroke, sophomore Maria Grishaeva swam a time of 2:16.90, the fifth fastest time in program history, to secure the gold and a spot in the A Finals. Junior Lindsay Burbage joined Grishaeva in the A Finals after placing fifth with a time 2:21.02. Junior Diya Ackerman-Vallala (2:22.84, 11th), freshman Kate Baranova (2:24.92, 14th) and Kendall gilbert (2:25.10, 15th) all moved on to the B Finals.
 
Sophomore Karinne Everly finished the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:03.05 to take fourth place and head to the A Finals. Sophomore Hannah Schoenauer (2:08.03) and senior Lexi Alexen (2:10.51) finished the event in 11th and 15th, respectively, to earn placement in the B Finals.
 
Finals
Junior Ece Yildirim placed fourth in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 17:08.29, marking the seventh fastest time in program history. Freshman Flora Klimesch placed seventh in the event with a time of 17:14.47.
 
Stoura finished 17th in the 200 backstroke finals with a time of 2:07.34. Cakiroglu tied for 17th in the 100 freestyle relay with a time of 51.47, while Tedesco finished 14th with a time of 51.98.
 
Grishaeva broke her previous personal-best to move into fourth all-time with a mark of 2:15.15 to garner the gold medal in the 200 breaststroke. Burbage swam a time of 2:21.18 to take seventh place in the event, while Gilbert (2:22.10) and Baranova (2:22.49) finished 11th and 12th, respectively.
 
Everly grabbed the bronze with a time of 2:02.79 in the 200 butterfly, with Schoenauer placing 12th with a time of 2:06.85.
 
In the relays, the 400 freestyle relay team of Tedesco, Ackerman-Vallala, Everly and Cakiroglu swam a time of 3:27.44 to finish fourth.
 
Men's Swimming & Diving
 
Preliminaries
During the preliminaries on day three, sophomore Chase Keeler swam into fifth with a time of 1:48.61 to advance to the A Finals. Freshman Liam Hickey (1:50.57) and Zach Szabo (1:50.97) finished 13th and 14th, respectively, to move on to the B Finals of the event.  
 
Senior Sammy Quigg grabbed the silver in the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.94 to move to the A Finals, as freshman Macek Vandermolen earned a spot into the B Finals after finishing 15th with a time of 45.86. junior Aidan Shepston (46.58, 26th) and sophomore Daniel Strumidlo (46.64, 29th) each found a spot in the C Finals of the event.
 
In the 200 breaststroke, sophomore Nate Derby (2:02.43), and freshmen Hudson Bawduniak (2:02.73) and Eli Panachyda (2:03.12) took fifth, sixth and eighth, respectively to all advance to the A Finals.
 
Junior Aydin Erkan placed fifth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:50.13 to earn a place in the A Finals. Sophomore Liam Rayson finished 16th with a time of 1:56.46 to swim in the B Finals.
 
Finals
Freshman Miles Smyczek (16:10.18) and junior Jude Boukarroum (16:10.89) completed the 1,650 freestyle in ninth and 10th place, respectively.
 
Keeler swam into fifth with a time of 1:47.85 in the 200 backstroke, as Szabo took 11th with a time of 1:49.46. Quigg earned the bronze in the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.59. Vandermolen followed in 13th with a time of 45.32 in the event.
 
Derby swam the fifth fastest time in program history of 2:00.33 in the 200 breaststroke, breaking his own previous record from the 2024-25 season, to finish fourth in the event. Panachyda placed fifth in the event with a time of 2:01.16, the sixth fastest mark all-time.
 
Erkan finished seventh in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:50.16, as Rayson took 12th with a time of 1:52.61.
 
During the relay events, the 400 freestyle relay team consisting of Szabo, Derby, Shepston and Quigg had a combined time of 3:02.50 to take sixth.
 
Up Next
The women's swim and dive team will head to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for a tri-meet against La Salle and Rhode Island at 11 a.m., on Saturday, December 6. The Minutemen divers will join the women's team for an exhibition event only against La Salle.



DAY TWO
Swimming & Diving Finish Day Two Of Terrier Invite

The  Minutewomen and Minutemen remain in fourth heading into day three on Saturday, Nov. 23.

BOSTON  – The University of Massachusetts swimming and diving team finished day two of the Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University, on Saturday evening at the FitRec Competition Pool.
 
The Minutewomen sit in fourth with 545 points, while the Minutemen hold 552.50 points to rank fourth heading into day three of competition on Sunday, November 23.
 
The final day of the invite begins at 10 a.m. with the preliminaries, with the finals starting at 5 p.m.
 
Women's Swimming & Diving
 
Preliminaries
In the preliminaries, sophomore Maria Grishaeva earned placement into the A Finals of the 400 individual medley with the program's second-best mark all-time of 4:22.72, placing second. Junior Diya Ackerman-Vallala made the B Finals of the event with a time of 4:32.18 (11th), with fellow classmate Ece Yildirim placing into the C Finals with a time of 4:41.51 (23rd). 
 
The 100 butterfly saw sophomore Karinne Everly place seventh with a time of 55.59, marking the seventh-best time in program history, to head to the A Finals. Fellow classmate Courtney Tedesco made the C Finals with a time of 57.56 in the event after finishing 21st.
 
Junior Beren Cakiroglu finished fifth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.36 to make the A Finals, while sophomore Hannah Schoenauer made the B Finals with a time of 1:54.16 to swim into 12th. Freshman Flora Klimesch swam a time of 1:56.69 to place 22nd, as junior Olga Stoura took 23rd with a time of 1:56.87 to reach the C Finals. Freshman Anna McCarthy (1:57.63, 26th) and senior Molly Nelson (1:58.07, 28th) also made the C Finals in the event. 
 
Junior Lindsay Burbage (1:03.46) and freshman Kate Baranova (1:04.14) placed second and fourth, respectively, in the 100 breaststroke to advance to the A Finals. Grishaeva swam a time of 56.81 to finish 11th in the 100 backstroke to place in the B Finals, as Tedesco had a time of 58.10 to place 20th and make the C Finals.
 
Finals
Grishaeva sat atop the podium in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:18.75, breaking her own previous second ranked all-time mark she earned in the preliminary round. Ackerman-Vallala finished 12th in the event with a time of 4:30.39.
 
In the 100 butterfly, Everly swam a time of 55.36 to finish sixth. Cakiroglu swam into sixth in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:51.90, with Schoenauer placing 12th with a time of 1:53.09 in the event.
 
Baranova earned the bronze in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.08, marking the ninth-best time in program history. Burbage followed closely behind in fourth with a time of 1:03.11 in the event.
 
Grishaeva placed 11th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.57.
 
In the relays, the 200 medley relay team of Cakiroglu, Baranova, Schoenauer and Ackerman-Vallala finished ninth with a time of 1:45.26. The 800 freestyle relay Cakiroglu, Ackerman-Vallala, Schoenauer, Stoura finished seventh with a time of 7:40.00.
 
Men's Swimming & Diving
 
Preliminaries
During the preliminaries on day two, sophomore Chase Keeler advanced to the A Finals with a time of 4:02.55 to take eighth in the 400 individual medley. Junior Aydin Erkan took 13th to move on to the B Finals with a time of 4:05.96, joined by freshmen Miles Smyczek (4:09.53, 19th) and Chase Dai (4:13.36, 25th) in the C Finals.
 
Freshman Hudson Bawduniak in the B Finals in the 100 butterfly after swimming into 16th with a time of 50.27. Junior Aidan Shepston (50.43) and sophomore Zach Szabo (50.64) both secured a spot in the C Finals of the 100 butterfly after swimming into 17th and 19th, respectively. Senior Sammy Quigg joined Shepston and Szabo in the C Finals after taking 26th with a time of 51.40.
 
In the 200 freestyle, sophomores Liam Rayson (1:39.84) and Daniel Strumidlo (1:40.10) placed ninth and 11th, respectively, to head to the B Finals. Five Minutemen in junior Cole Brooks (18th), freshman Macek Vandermolen (19th), freshman Sota Kawahata (20th), junior Alonso Montori (21st) and junior Jude Boukarroum (23rd) made the C Finals of the event.
 
Sophomore Nate Derby tied for first in the 100 breaststroke with the fourth-best mark in program history of 54.98 to make the A Finals. Bawduniak also made the A Finals of the event placing seventh with a time of 55.87, marking the ninth all-time mark in the program. Freshman Eli Panachyda (57.11, 17th), Dai (58.08, 22nd), freshman Bode Groh (58.25, 23rd) and Keeler (58.37, 24th) advanced to the C Finals of the event.
 
Szabo finished third in the 100 backstroke, marking the fifth-best time of 48.90, to earn a spot in the A Finals. Freshman Liam Hickey advanced to the B Finals with a time of 50.62 (13th), with Shepston making the C Finals with a time of 52.78 (30th).
 
Finals
Keeler took fifth in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:56.64, as Erkan placed 12th with a time of 4:04.52.
 
Bawduniak completed the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.90 to place 15th. Rayson took eighth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:39.92, as Montori finished 15th with a time of 1:41.78.
 
Derby placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 55.37, while Bawduniak took sixth with a time of 55.80. Bawduniak's time broke his previous ninth-best mark all-time he earned in the preliminary round. Panachyda swam the 10th-best time in program history of 55.88 in the event to finish 12th.
 
Szabo grabbed the bronze in the 100 backstroke swimming a time of 48.78, which marked the fourth-best time in program history, breaking a previous record from the preliminary round. Hickey placed 14th with a time of 50.55.
 
During the relay events, the team of Szabo, Derby, Shepston and Quigg swam the 200 medley relay with a combined time of 1:29.93 to take seventh. The 800 freestyle team consisting of Quigg, Rayson, Montori and Boukarroum placed fourth with a time of 6:41.58.
 
On The Boards
During the three-meter dive finals, sophomore Danielle Guerin secured the silver medal with a total of 261.50, followed by senior Shreeya Sinha in fifth with a score of 250.25.
 
Sophomore Khrystyna Yaremyn garnered the gold with a total of 294.60, marking the 10th best six-dive total in program history during the preliminary round.
 
For the Minutemen, sophomore Alex Kreidler earned the gold in the one-meter dive with a six-dive total of 338.80. Freshman Carson Harrington finished fourth with a score of 310.50.
 
Harrington sat atop the podium in the one-meter preliminaries with the ninth-best mark all-time of 319.65.



DAY ONE
Swimming & Diving Complete Day One At Terrier Invite
Both the Minutewomen and Minutemen sit in fourth heading into day two on Saturday, Nov. 22.

BOSTON  – The University of Massachusetts swimming and diving team completed day one of the Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University, on Friday evening at the FitRec Competition Pool.
 
The Minutewomen sit in fourth with 268 points, while the Minutemen hold 234.5o0 points to rank fourth.
 
Women's Swimming & Diving
 
Preliminaries
In the preliminaries, sophomore Hannah Schoenauer and freshman Flora Klimesch advanced to the B Finals of the 500 freestyle after placing 11th (5:02.88) and 12th (5:03.62), respectively. Senior Lexi Alexen (5:05.63, 17th)  and junior Ece Yildirim (5:07.75, 19th) earned their spot in the C Finals in the event.
 
Sophomore Maria Grishaeva secured a spot in the A Finals of the 200 individual medley, recording the fourth fastest mark in the all-time records of 2:04.52 to place third. Junior Lindsay Burbage moved on to the B Finals with a ninth-place finish with a time of 2:06.04. Sophomore Karinne Everly (2:07.22, 17th) and junior Diya Ackerman-Vallala (2:08.23, 21st) made their way into the C Finals of the event.
 
The 50 freestyle saw sophomore Courtney Tedesco swim into eight with a time of 23.56 to advance to the A Finals of the event. Junior Beren Cakiroglu finished with a time of 24.08 to place 19th to find a spot in the C Finals.
 
Finals
The 500 freestyle finals saw Klimesch place ninth with a time of 5:02.64, while Schoenauer finished 10th with a time of 5:03.29. Alexen placed 14th in the event swimming a time of 5:04.44.
 
Grishaeva secured the silver in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:01.39, marking the second-best time all-time in program history. Burbage earned sixth in the event with the sixth-best mark all-time of 2:05.20.
 
Tedesco placed 10th in the 50 freestyle finals with a time 23.79, as Cakiroglu swam into 14th with a time of 23.80.
 
In the relays, the 200 freestyle relay team consisting of Cakiroglu, Ackerman-Vallala, Everly and Tedesco finished fifth with a combined time of 1:34.62. The 400 medley relay team of Grishaeva, Burbage, Everly and Cakiroglu swam a time of 3:44.97 to place fourth.
 
Men's Swimming & Diving
 
Preliminaries
During the preliminaries on day one, junior Jude Boukarroum advanced to the B Finals of the 500 freestyle after placing ninth with a time of 4:34.18. Sophomore Daniel Strumidlo (4:36.57, 13th) and junior Cole Brooks (4:37.22, 16th) joined his teammate in the B Finals, while freshman Sota Kawahata earned a spot in the C Finals of the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:38.34 to take 18th. 
 
Sophomore Nate Derby took fourth in the 200 individual medley to secure a spot in the A Finals. He swam a time of 1:50.17, which marked the program's ninth best time all-time. Senior Sammy Quigg, freshman Chase Dai and sophomore Chase Keeler earned spots in the C Finals, after Quigg took 18th with a time of 1:53.55, Dai finished 21st with a time of 1:54.45 and Keeler placed 23rd with a time of 1:54.65.
 
In the 50 freestyle, junior Aidan Shepston swam a time of 21.04 to tie for 15th to move into the B Finals. Sophomores Zach Szabo (21.22, 22nd) and Liam Rayson (21.27, T-24th), and freshman Macek Vandermolen (21.27, T-24th) earned placement in the C Finals of the event.
 
Finals
Boukarroum took 10th with a time of 4:37.97, while Kawahata (4:35.90) and Brooks (4:35.99) placed 14th and 15th, respectively, in the 500 freestyle finals.
 
In the 200 individual medley, Derby swam into fifth with a mark of 1:50.02, tying the eighth-best time in program history. Quigg earned 15th place with a time of 1:52.30 in the event.
 
During the relay events, the team of Quigg, Derby, Shepston and Rayson combined for a time of 1:22.32 to place fifth in the 200 freestyle relay. The 400 medley relay team consisting of Szabo, Dai, Rayson and Quigg took fourth with a time of 3:18.29
 
On The Boards
In the three-meter dive finals, sophomore Danielle Guerin took third with a six-dive total of 255.95. Senior Shreeya Sinha (245.50) and sophomore Khrystyna Yaremyn (240.85) followed in sixth and seventh, respectively.
 
For the Minutemen, freshman Carson Harrington totaled the fourth-best mark all-time with a 339.40 to grab the gold in the one-meter dive. Sophomore Alex Kreidler followed close behind on the podium in second with a six-dive total of 331.15.
