Massachusetts Swim & Dive Places Eight On CSC Academic All-District Team

Both the Minutemen and Minutewomen landed four members on the team.
AMHERST, Mass. - Â Eight members of the University of Massachusetts swim and dive team earned Academic All-District honors, as announced by the College Sports Communicators organization on Tuesday. Jude Boukarroum, Kendall Gilbert, Maria Grishaeva, Danielle Guerin, Sammy Quigg, Liam Rayson, Aidan Shepston and Courtney Tedesco were selected for their efforts in the pool and in the classroom, while Bell advanced to the Academic All-America ballot as finalist.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Boukarroum, a mechanical engineering major, was 16th in the 200 freestyle with a personal-best time of 1:40.17, before finishing 10th in the 500 freestyle with a season-best time of 4:28.75, at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships. In the 1650 freestyle, the Brookfield, Connecticut, native, placed seventh with a season-best time of 15:45.03. He membered the 800 freestyle relay team that took fourth with a time of 1:38.30.

Gilbert, a kinesiology major, placed 14th in the 200 breaststroke finals at the Mid-American Conference Championships with a time of 2:18.35. The Glenville, New York, native, finished second with a personal-best time of 25.43 in the 50 freestyle timed finals. She also took 22nd in the 100 breaststroke prelims with a season-best time of 1:05.06.

A biochemistry and molecular biology major, Grishaeva took home the bronze medal at the MAC Championships after finishing the 200 breaststroke finals with a time of 2:13.03, after placing second in the prelims with a personal-best time of 2:13.03. The time marked the second-best time in program history. The Broadland, Virginia, native, placed 10th in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:01.49, before taking fourth in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:19.67. She also aided the sixth-place 400 medley relay team to a new program record time of 3:41.51 as the leadoff, swimming the third-best time in program history of 55.28 in the 100 backstroke.

Guerin, a sport management major, placed 12th overall in the one-meter dive finals at the MAC Championships with a score of 251.65. The Auckland, New Zealand, native, finished the three-meter dive preliminaries with a six-dive total of 205.65 to sit 26th.

Quigg, a mechanical engineering major, placed 10th in the 50 freestyle (20.39) and sixth in the 100 freestyle (44.07) with season-best times at the MVC Championships. In the 200 freestyle, the Merritt Island, Florida, native, took 11th with a personal-best time of 1:37.79. He also anchored the fifth-place 200 freestyle relay team (1:20.56), the fourth-place 400 freestyle relay team (2:56.70) and the fifth-place 400 medley relay team (3:14.61), as all three relays set a new program record. Quigg membered the 800 freestyle relay team that finished fourth with a time of 1:36.12.

A hospitality and tourism management major, Rayson finished the 100 freestyle (45.93) in 23rd and the 200 freestyle (1:38.66) in 13th, marking personal-best times in both. The Herndon, Virginia, had a season-best time of 1:51.79 to take 18th in the 200 butterfly. He also anchored the 800 freestyle relay team that finished fourth with a time of 1:38.51.

A computer science and system engineering major, Shepston finished 12th in the 50 freestyle (20.53) at the MVC Championships, before placing 15th with a season-best time of 45.54 in the 100 freestyle. He also placed 17th in the 100 butterfly with a season-best time of 49.33. He was the leadoff the program record setting 200 freestyle relay team (1:20.56) that took fifth, earning a personal-best split time of 20.47 in the 50 freestyle. The Broomfield, Colorado, native, also membered the 400 freestyle relay team (2:56.70) that placed fourth and the fifth-place 200 medley relay team (1:28.09) that set program records.

Tedesco, a dual major in finance and economics, swam a personal-best time of 23.37, which marked the sixth-best time in program history, in the 50 freestyle preliminaries at the MAC Championships. The Charleston, South Carolina, native, set a personal-best time in the 100 freestyle prelims with a time of 51.66 to sit 27th, while placing 23rd in the 100 butterfly with a personal-best time of 56.61. She also finished third with a personal-best time of 1:54.67 in the 200 freestyle timed finals.
