Minutewomen Tally Sixth Straight Win With Shutout Victory Over Quinnipiac

AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts (6-2) secured a dominant Sunday shutout, claiming a 4-0 win over Quinnipiac (2-6) on Sunday at Gladchuk Field Hockey Complex. The Minutewomen recorded their sixth straight win and second consecutive shutout to close a successful homecoming weekend in Amherst.
Graduate defender Elena Cloconeanu extended her scoring streak to three games, capping the shutout win for the Minutewomen. Fellow graduate student Claire Danahy was all over the pitch, dishing out single game career-high three assists on the afternoon. Danahy is now tied with freshman Elani Sherwood with a team-high 13 points on the year.
Senior Hannah de Gast opened the scoring for Massachusetts, powering home her first goal of the season early in the first quarter. Forward Dempsey Campbell also got in on the scoring, recording her fourth goal of the season on four total shots for the day.
Goalkeeper Myrte van Herwijnen stopped all five shots faced, tallying her A-10 leading third shutout of the season.
