AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts basketball adds another piece to its frontcourt as Shahid Muhammad officially signs with the Minutemen, head coach Frank Martin announced Tuesday.

An incoming junior, Muhammad comes to Amherst from College of Southern Idaho where he averaged 5.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game for the Golden Eagles. The Queens, New York native was a Region 18 Second-Team selection, helping CSI to a 23-9 overall record last season. A force in the paint defensively, Muhammad set the program record for most blocks in a season, swatting 106 shots over 30 games. Muhammad started his collegiate career at Seton Hall, playing in nine games for the Pirates in his freshman season.

Muhammad joins the transfer trio of Akil Watson, Daniel Rivera and Malek Abdelgowad to the Massachusetts class of 2024. Including incoming freshman Amadou Doumbia, Nate Guerengomba, Lewis Walker, and Luka Damjanac the 2024 class includes six players ranked as at least a three-star recruit.
