Dartmouth Double Dual

Massachusetts Rowing Sweeps Fordham At Dartmouth Double Dual
April 20, 2024 | Rowing
UMass raced against Fordham and Dartmouth on Saturday morning
FAIRLEE Vt. - The Massachusetts rowing team headed to Lake Morey on Saturday morning to race Fordham and the hosts from Dartmouth and swept Fordham in the first session of races as part of the double dual format.Â
"First off, we want to thank John Graves and his staff from Dartmouth for hosting a phenomenal regatta," said head coach Eric Carcich. "We had a really good start to the day against Fordham in five different boat classes. All five boats took a nice step forward this morning and notched a win, with the 3v8 finale finalizing the sweep of the Rams."Â
"After the morning session and a quick break the second set of races kicked off with a dramatic weather change and highly variable conditions," Carcich continued. "With shifting winds and tough competition with the Dartmouth crews, we felt we went out and fought hard and represented UMass well across the board. With one month to go before the championships we are pleased with the improvement but are excited about more speed to be gained in this coming week and beyond. Can't wait to get back to work on Monday."Â
