Philoxy Signs With Athinaikos In Greece

Destiney Philoxy begins her professional career on Oct. 7 against Iraklis.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's basketball alumnae Destiney Philoxy signed a professional contract with Athinaikos in the Greek Women's Basketball League. Philoxy and Athinaikos begin the 2023-24 season on Oct. 7 against Iraklis.
Philoxy heads to Vyronas, Greece after finishing her five-year UMass career as the program's all-time assist, games, and minutes leader. The guard was a two-time Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team selection and was tabbed to the A-10 Second-Team squad in 2021-22. During the 2021-22 campaign, Philoxy averaged 10.8 points per game to go along with 5.7 assists per contest and ranked ninth nationally while leading the A-10 in total assists with 187.
