Men’s Hoops Adds Foster To Roster For 2023-24 Season

Tarique Foster will join the Minutemen following a prep season at Putnam Science Academy.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's basketball head coach Frank Martin announced the signing of forward Tarique Foster on Monday afternoon. The Bronx, N.Y. native spent the 2022-23 season at Putnam Science Academy and helped lead the squad to a National Prep Championship.
"Once again our staff did an unbelievable job in maintaining a relationship with Tarique Foster, someone we've been watching since our days at South Carolina and his time at Cardinal Hayes," said Martin. "A former VCU signee that brings skill, length, a great work ethic, and fits in perfectly with how we like to play – fast and with size on the perimeter for defensive purposes."
Foster spent four years at Cardinal Hayes High School, averaging 16 points and six rebounds as a senior while helping the team to a 26-3 record. Cardinal Hayes finished the season with a state championship and a no. 7 national ranking by MaxPreps.
