Men’s Hoops Adds Jaylen Curry To Roster

Curry is a top-20 point guard nationally and the no. 140 Class of 2023 recruit according to 247Sports.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's basketball head coach Frank Martin announced the signing of Jaylen Curry on Wednesday afternoon. The Charlotte, N.C. native will join the Minutemen for the upcoming season after averaging 16.5 points, 5.4 assists, and 2.1 steals per game last season at Calvary Christian Academy.
Curry is ranked as a top-20 point guard and the no. 140 ranked recruit in the Class of 2023 according to 247Sports. The point guard played for Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. following seasons at Julius L. Chambers and Combine Academy in North Carolina. Curry averaged 14.8 points, 10.2 assists, and 2.9 steals per game in 28 contests as a junior at Chambers and was named first-team all-district and to the Queen City 3A/4A All-Conference Team. Curry earned a gold medal for Team USA at the 2021 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, where he averaged 8.0 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.8 steals per game while helping USA to a 6-0 record. He scored 13 points and added 10 assists with three steals in a quarterfinal win over Mexico.
