The Minutewomen took part in their second event of the season
LEONIA, N.J. - The University of Massachusetts rowing team traveled to New Jersey to take part in the Atlantic 10 Invitational on Saturday, sweeping the morning series of races against St. Joseph's, Lehigh and Connecticut.
Results
Massachusetts rowing then raced against George Washington, Bucknell and Connecticut in the afternoon. Those races ended up being some of the tightest finishes of the day with close margins in both the Varsity and JV 8's against the Colonials. The UMass Varsity 4 went out and clocked its second big win of the day and the third Varsity 8 wrapped up racing with a strong piece against Bucknell.
"We as a team were excited to get back out there on the racecourse to continue our progress toward May 12," said head coach Eric Carcich. "We had a really good week of training and We felt like we took another great step as a young team and it is clear after looking at the results today across the board there will be some very tight racing at the A-10 championships in five weeks. One day at a time, one week at a time and back to work on Monday. Can't wait." Â
