Bell, Petrovich Wrap Up Action For Massachusetts Diving At NCAA Zone A Diving Championships

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - The University of Massachusetts diving team's Andrew Bell and Emma Petrovich finished up the 2022-23 slate on Tuesday afternoon, concluding action at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships at West Virginia University.
Bell picked up a 17th place finish in the 3-meter dive, recording a score of 300.55 in the preliminary round for 18th place and ultimately scored a 623.30. The South Windsor, Conn. native wraps up a successful season on the diving board, having recorded the No. 2 all-time program-best score in the men's 3-meter dive at this year's Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships when Bell tallied a 369.60 in the preliminary round. The freshman also set the No. 3 all-time program-best mark in the 1-meter dive, scoring a 331.80 at UMass' dual meet against Fordham in January.
Petrovich finished out her career as a Minutewoman in the 1-meter dive, taking 74th place on the day with a score of 185.05. The Wellesley, Mass. native currently sits on the record board for the 1-meter dive at No. 5 with a score of 288.82. Her personal best of this season took place at the Tate Ramsden Invitational, where she scored a 284.75 for first place in the event. The senior set a personal best score of 290.80 in the 3-meter dive at UMass' dual meet against Binghamton and Vermont.
Tommy Cotner finished off his season on Monday, having competed in the 1-meter dive at this year's NCAA Zone A Diving Championships. The Norton Shores, Mich. native had a successful year, having been crowned the Atlantic 10 Men's 1-meter Diving Champion as well as having been named the Most Outstanding Male Diver at this year's Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships. Cotner set a personal best score of 317.25 in the 1-meter dive at UMass' dual meet against Fordham, good for No. 7 all-time at UMass in the event. The senior tallied a 316.05 in the 3-meter dive at the Tate Ramsden Invitational to enter the record books in the event at No. 9 all-time.
