UMass’ Musa Tabbed Hockey East Rookie Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts freshman forward Jack Musa has been selected as the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday. The Orange Park, Florida native helped the Minutemen earn a split with No. 6 Michigan last weekend, setting up five of UMass' eight goals on the weekend.
Musa led UMass in points on the week with five helpers against the Wolverines, including three of the six goals the Minutemen scored in the third period in Saturday's 6-3 come-from-behind victory. He also assisted both goals in Friday's loss and currently leads UMass in scoring with six points through three games. He leads the nation in freshman scoring with six points, tied for sixth overall, and is tied for fifth overall in assists.
The Minutemen will return to action this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 20-21, when the squad travels to No. 19/20 Minnesota State.
