Three Members Of Massachusetts Swim And Dive Team Named UMass Student-Athletes Of The Week

Emma Petrovich, Caroline Mahoney, and Jamie MacDonald's stellar performances at Saturday's dual meet against Bryant earned the trio the title.
AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts swimming and diving athletes Emma Petrovich, Caroline Mahoney, and Jamie MacDonald have been titled this week's UMass Student-Athletes of the Week presented by UMass Five, as announced on Tuesday morning.
Petrovich, a senior diver from Wellesley, Mass., won both the 1m and 3m dives against Bryant on Saturday, scoring a 247.80 and 256.95, respectively.
Mahoney, a junior from Cape Elizabeth, Maine, captured gold at Saturday's meet in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, clocking in with times of 24.59 and 53.19 seconds, respectively.
Mahoney and Petrovich's combined efforts aided in the Minutewomen win on Saturday afternoon, soundly defeating Bryant by a score of 182 to 118.
MacDonald, a senior from Edinburgh, Scotland, earned first place in the 200-yard butterfly in 1:56.41, as well as in the 200-yard individual medley in 1:57.91. MacDonald's performances helped lift the Minutemen over the Bulldogs by a score of 170 to 130 on Saturday afternoon.
