LeClair Joins Massachusetts Athletics As Assistant AD For Sport Administration & Financial Operations

The UConn alumnus comes to UMass from the University of North Carolina.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts Athletics has welcomed Brett LeClair as assistant athletic director for sport administration and financial operations, it was announced on Tuesday. LeClair came to UMass from the University of North Carolina where he was the assistant director of the Dean E. Smith Center Complex and director of aquatics.
While at UNC, he oversaw five athletic department facilities with budgets totaling $2.8M annually. He coordinated capital projects within the Dean E. Smith Center Complex totaling over $1.5M and was responsible for the management of athletic contests and external events hosted within.
LeClair's prior stops included James Madison University, where he served as assistant director of facilities and events. At JMU, he was the primary event manager for women's soccer, field hockey, women's basketball, lacrosse and oversaw fan services for football.
Prior to his time at James Madison, LeClair served as a graduate assistant at UNC and has also held roles in the athletic departments at Wake Forest, UConn and Holy Cross.Â
A Massachusetts native, LeClair earned his B.S. in Sport Management from the University of Connecticut and his M.A. in Sport Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.Â
