Martinez sets a new top-five all-time mark for the Minutemen in hammer throw.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's track and field logged eight event wins to help the squad to a victory in a tri-meet vs. Northeastern and UMass Lowell on Saturday at the UMass Track & Field Complex. The Minutemen posted 140 points, followed by the River Hawks (90) and the Huskies (83).

Newcomer Enrique Martinez posted a new No. 5 all-time mark in UMass history in hammer throw, the first new entry on the list since 2011, with his toss of 171 feet, 1 inch, which was good for second on the day.

Jordan Howard won the 200 meter dash in 22.25 seconds and was the runner-up in 100 meter dash (10.76). Michael Rodia placed third in 100m at 10.86 seconds.

Colin Stoddard clocked in at 49.16 seconds in the 400 meter dash, good for first place, while Daniel Dubski was third (52.50).

Alexander Laurent and Herlin Rijo were third (1:56.07) and fourth (1:56.42) in the 800 meter run. Freshman Surafel Mengist won the 5,000 meter run in 15 minutes, 2.24 seconds, followed by Owen Mullahy in second (15:08.30) and Zach Conant in third (15:24.14). Benjamin Burgess completed the 10K in 32 minutes, 14.56 seconds.

Freshman Denzel Agyeman placed second in 110 meter hurdles and Jackson Walker was triumphant in 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.44 seconds.

Noah Kortkamp claimed the top mark in long jump, 22 feet, 2.5 inches, followed by Andrew Chabon (second, 22'2.25") and Tyler Glendon (21'1.25"). Glendon was second in triple jump with a leap of 37 feet, 10.5 inches.
Coston O'Brien won shot put with a toss of 52 feet, 1 inch, placed second in discus (144'11") and third in hammer throw (164'0").

Flynn Mitchell collected first in javelin with a throw of 180 feet, 2 inches, followed by Peter Kitsakos' mark of 172 feet, 4 inches.
UMass' 4x100 meter relay team of Patrick Walsh, Kortkamp, Michael Rodia and Howard posted the top time in the event, 41.92 seconds.
The Minutemen will be back in action next Saturday, April 10, at 10:30 a.m., taking on Boston College and Boston University at the UMass Track & Field Complex.
