Minutewomen Pick up Fourth Win Over Crusaders

WORCESTER, Mass. – The UMass women's basketball team improves to 4-0 after taking their first road victory of the year against the Holy Cross crusaders. After facing a double-digit deficit, the Minutewomen outscored their opponent in the final three quarters to take the 61-58 victory.
UMass was once again led by Sam Breen with yet another double-double scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Sydney Taylor and Ber'Nyah Mayo each hit double digits , combining for 23 points.
UMass dominated the boards offensively with 17 second-chance points, while also feeding ball inside scoring 34 of their 61 points in the paint.
After being down by as many as 16-points the Minutewomen clawed their way back into the contest, led by Breen to head into the break down 32-27.
The Holy Cross lead continued to dwindle, when Mayo tied the game up for UMass with just over eight minutes to play in the third.
The game saw eight more lead changes in the final 18 minutes of play before the pair of Taylor and Breen sealed the game from the stripe.
