Women's Basketball Runs Past Saint Rose 95-54 In Exhibition

The Minutewomen host Central Connecticut State on November 9 to open up the regular season at the Mullins Center.
AMHERST, Mass. – Six Minutewomen reached double figures, as graduate student Sam Breen led the way with 19 points in the University of Massachusetts women's basketball 95-54 victory over The College of Saint Rose on Tuesday night in an exhibition games at the Mullins Center.
Sophomore Makennah White came down with a team-leading eight rebounds, while recording 11 points, while senior Destiney Philoxy dished out six assists and totaled 12 points on the night.
For Saint Rose, Isabel Sanchez registered a team-high 16 points and a team best four assists. Nina Fedullo pulled down four rebounds for the Golden Knights, while Ashia Smith had three steals.
UMass jumped to a 39-29 lead in the first half, before adding 56 more points in the second half. The Maroon and White went on a 14-9 run over a span of 5:15 minutes in the third quarter and a 29-8 run through 9:43 minutes of the fourth quarter to bring it to the final score.
