ESPN Top 100 recruit signed NLI with Minutewomen in November 2020
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's basketball head coach Tory Verdi announced on Thursday that Stefanie Kulesza has joined the Minutewomen as an early enrollee. Eligible to practice and play immediately, Kulesza signed her National Letter of Intent with the Minutewomen in November 2020 and was ranked among ESPN's Top 100 recruits in the Class of 2021.
"We are thrilled to welcome Stefanie to UMass earlier than expected," said Verdi. "In my five years here, she is the highest-ranked player to join our program. She is an incredibly talented player and a great student, and we cannot wait to see her add depth and impact at the guard position soon."
Kulesza, out of Conrad Schools of Science (Delaware), led her team to an 81-15 career record and reached 1,000 points as a sophomore. Kulesza was a First-Team All-Conference selection for five years, and a First-Team All-State honoree for four seasons. She also helped her team to the Diamond State Conference Championship for four straight seasons.
In graduating early from Conrad, Kulesza is enrolled at UMass as a public health major.
Massachusetts continues its Atlantic 10 Conference schedule on Fri., Jan. 29 in a 1 p.m. home game vs. Saint Joseph's at the Mullins Center.
