Join The Minutemen Club Virtual Golf Classic!

Play at either Crumpin-Fox or Fox Hopyard between Sept. 14 and Oct. 31
AMHERST, Mass. -- Have you been thinking about the fall looking for a fun and affordable way to hang out with your friends, win prizes, and even compete against others? If so, then UMass Athletics has the perfect opportunity for you!
Together with Crumpin-Fox, the Official Golf Partner of UMass Athletics, we are excited to announce the 2020 Minutemen Club Virtual Golf Classic. The first-time event will allow for UMass alumni, donors and fans to come together virtually in a fun, interactive, and competitive way.
The tournament will allow each foursome to play one 18-hole round at either Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardston, Mass. or at Fox Hopyard Golf Club in East Haddam, Conn. between September 14 and October 31. The participants will use a traditional scramble format to determine their score and will hand the scorecard into the proshop when the round is completed. The top-three teams will receive prizes that will be sent out in early November.
If you choose to play during the week, the cost will be $125/person. This will include your greens fee, golf cart, range balls, small tee gift and a $25 gift card to Zeke's Bar and Grill or On the Rocks. If you choose to play on the weekends the cost will be $150/person.
To register and pay for the golf classic, call John Jackson (Director of Business Development for Fox Golf) directly at 413-834-2843 during the hours of 9am to 5pm Monday-Friday. A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit UMass Athletics and its student-athletes.
Additionally, there will be a few other ways to earn prizes throughout the outing:
"UMass" on the Tee: Interested in earning a stroke off your final score for your team? Have all four players in your group wear UMass gear and snap a photo on the first tee! From there, post it on Twitter or Facebook and tag @UMassAthletics.
Farthest Drive: Snap a photo of your tee shot on the first par-5 that you play in your round. The golf carts have GPS in them so you will be able to determine how far the drive is. Post it to Twitter or Facebook, tag @UMassAthletics, and state how long you hit the drive for your chance to win a prize!
Closest to the Pin: Snap a photo of your tee shot on the first par-3 that you play in your round. Post it to Twitter or Facebook, tag @UMassAthletics, and say "I think I'm #closest" for your chance to win a prize!
