The 5-9, 165-pound defenseman is the second new addition to the Minutemen’s roster for 2020-21.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey will welcome another defenseman to its incoming class for 2020-21 with the addition of 5-9, 165-pound, Walden, New York native Aaron Bohlinger, head coach Greg Carvel announced on Wednesday. Bohlinger joins fellow blueliner Linden Alger as the second member of the squad's freshman group and comes to Amherst from the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League (USHL).
"Aaron is an under-sized defenseman who has tremendous skating ability, great hockey sense and an offensive nose for the game," said Carvel. "He is a modern-day defenseman in that he reads the game well, jumps up in the play, competes and plays the game with speed. Another addition to our team that excels in the classroom and who we view as a high-character young man."
Bohlinger tallied 16 points on four goals and 12 assists over 49 games for Waterloo in 2019-20. He spent the previous season in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) where he posted 37 points (7g, 30a) over 59 contests with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
