Curtis, Mangram Selected To NFF Hampshire Honor Society

Academic recognition bestowed to two members of UMass football
IRVING, Texas - Two members of the 2019 University of Massachusetts football team earned selection for the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society in redshirt senior quarterback Michael Curtis and senior safety Martin Mangram, as announced by the NFF on Wednesday. In its 14th year, the Hampshire Honor Society recognizes all graduating football student-athletes who maintained cumulative GPAs at or above 3.2 during their respective careers.
Curtis appeared in 10 games during his career and made four starts at quarterback. He completed 56 of his 104 pass attempts for 700 yards passing and six touchdowns. Curtis also rushed for 149 yards and five touchdowns over 42 carries. The Richardson, Texas, native earned letters with the Minutemen in 2017, 2018 and 2019 following his transfer to the University of Massachusetts from Trinity Valley College (2015-16).
Mangram appeared in all 48 games over the 2016-19 seasons as a member of the secondary and on special teams coverage, and made 10 starts at safety during his senior campaign in 2019. He totaled 102 career tackles, including 1.5 TFLs for 11 yards lost, recovered two fumbles and broke up one pass. The Buford, Georgia, native had a career season in 2019 with personal-bests for total tackles (65), solo tackles (38) and assisted stops (38), while he recovered a fumble each against Akron (Sept. 28) and at FIU (Oct. 5).
Massachusetts football had at least one student-athlete selected for the Hampshire Honor Society in each of the last five seasons. It also includes Joe Colton, Blake Frohanpfel and Matt Sparks in 2015, Fabian Hoeller in 2016, Nick Berus and Andrew Libby in 2017 and Peter Comaroto and Andrew Ford in 2018.
