 Three or more touchdown passes in seven games and tossed for 250 or more passing yards in seven as well
 Season totals ranked among highest in history of the program upon completion of the 2017 campaign, including for touchdowns thrown (tied-fourth; 26), passing yards per game (fifth; 242.3), pass completions (seventh; 222), pass attempts (seventh; 365), completion percentage (60.8; ninth) and passing yards (10th; 2,665)
 Made his first start of the season against FIU (9/17) and finished 28-of-42 (66.7 percent) for 278 yards and three touchdowns
 Was 24-of-40 (60.0 percent) with four touchdowns and 273 yards passing at Mississippi State (9/24)
 Added a 29-for-40 outing (72.5 percent) with 268 yards and three touchdowns against Louisiana Tech (10/15)

 Also rushed for two touchdowns on the season
 Won first team all-league after he guided the team to a 8-2 record and the Northeast Football Conference Championship
