Women's Hoops Defeats Belém Select, 101-43

LISBON, Portugal – University of Massachusetts women's basketball collected the second straight win of the team's Portugal tour with a 101-43 victory over Belém Select on Tuesday at Pavilhao Acacio Rosa. With two contests in Lisbon now in the books, the Minutewomen will travel South on Wednesday to The Algarve region for the final leg of their tour, a stretch that includes a Thurs., Aug. 22 game vs. Algarve Elite which tips at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time.

Junior Bre Hampton-Bey led the squad with 17 points and was followed up by 14 points from freshman Sydney Taylor. Junior Sam Breen collected 13 points and senior Hailey Leidel rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 of her own. On the glass, junior Desiree Oliver and freshman Maeve Donnelly each amassed six boards and senior Maddie Sims logged six rebounds in the victory.
