Field Hockey Finalizes 2019 Schedule

Minutewomen open up campaign at Ohio State on Fri., Aug. 30
AMHERST, Mass. ā University of Massachusetts field hockey and head coach Barb Weinberg announced the team's 2019 schedule on Wednesday. Five games against 2018 NCAA Tournament teams and eight at the Gladchuk Field Hockey Complex highlight the season, which begins at Big Ten foe Ohio State on Fri., Aug. 30.

A season-opening string of four road contests continues at Louisville (Sept. 1), with the Minutewomen trekking to New England rivals Yale (Sept. 6) and Dartmouth (Sept. 8) the following weekend.

The home schedule opens up on Sat., Sept. 14 as UAlbany visits Amherst. In-state rival Harvard will then head to Western Massachusetts on Mon., Sept. 16.

Atlantic 10 competition for the Minutewomen starts in Missouri with a tilt with Saint Louis on Sat., Sept. 21. Other highlights in-conference include home matchups with Saint Joseph's (Sept. 27), Richmond (Sept. 29) and VCU (Nov. 1), with regional opponents Northeastern (Oct. 4) and New Hampshire (Oct. 6) coming to the 'Chuk as well.

UMass wraps up the regular season squaring off at Boston University (Oct. 27), and at home against conference foe VCU (Nov. 1). A trip to UConn on Sun., Nov. 3 serves as the squad's final tune-up ahead of the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Richmond will host the A-10 Championship at Crenshaw Field on Fri. and Sat., Nov. 8-9.
