Athletics Launches Sam the Minuteman’s Flagship Adventures Contests

Contests run through August 19; fans of all ages encouraged to participate
AMHERST, Mass. – UMass Athletics is excited to announce the launch of Sam the Minuteman's Flagship Adventures. Fans of all ages are invited to design, cut out and travel with their very own Sam the Minuteman throughout Summer 2019.
Two separate contests are running: one for all fans and one for elementary school students only. Participants in both contests can color and design their Sam, cut him out, take him on an adventure and take a photo.
All photos must be shared to either Twitter, Instagram or Facebook with @UMassAthletics and @Sam_Minuteman tagged in the post. Submissions must also be emailed to sam@umass.edu, with the email including the following information:

School/Grade in Fall 2019: (Only if entering as part of the Elementary School Student Contest)

Elementary School Contest • Open to Kids Entering Kindergarten-Grade 5
All elementary participants who submit a photo and complete all submission guidelines will receive one ticket voucher that can be redeemed to the home opener football game on Sat., Sept. 7 vs. Southern Illinois at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. All ticket vouchers will be issued via email.
General Fan Contest • Open to Anyone Grade 6 and Up
Submissions for the fan contest are open to fans of any age who are in grade 6 and older. Prizes for the general fan contest include game tickets, autographed merchandise and Adidas prize packs.
Winners will be selected in each category from each grade level in the Elementary School Student contest, as well as throughout the Fan Contest pool. Categories include:
Under NCAA rules, fans within recruitable age (grades 6-12) are eligible to win the General Fan Contest, but may not be highlighted or publicly recognized by UMass Athletics.
All photos must be submitted by Mon., Aug. 19 and winners will be notified on Mon., Aug. 26. Winners will be recognized during the home opener football game on Sat., Sept. 7 against Southern Illinois.
