The Little Engine That Could
• Andy Isabella ranks among the nation's per-game leaders in reception and receiving yards, as well as touchdowns catches. Isabella is tied for third with seven touchdowns, is 10th with 108.0 receiving yards and stands 13th with 6.8 receptions per game.
• Isabella is one of only two players in the nation who ranks as highlight in all three categories, alongside John Ursua (Hawai'i). Ursua is listed at 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds while Isabella 5-foot-10, 190 pounds.
The Curious Case of Bryton Barr
• Graduate student middle linebacker Bryton Barr leads NCAA FBS in tackles per game (13.7) and total tackles (82) through six games. Barr had at least 10 tackles in each of the last five games, including at Boston College (17), at Georgia Southern (10), at FIU (15), Charlotte (21) and at Ohio (11).
• Barr is in his seventh season of collegiate football and second with the Minutemen. He was a member of the Towson football program from 2012-16 before he transferred to Massachusetts ahead of the 2017 campaign. Barr went 1,091 consecutive days between games played due to back-to-back-to-back injuries at Towson spanning from Sept. 8, 2013 through Sept. 3, 2016.
Picks For Points
• Isaiah Rodgers has two career interceptions returned for touchdowns, one at No. 21 Mississippi State (11/4/17) and his second at Ohio (9/29/18). It makes the junior cornerback one of only four players in the history of the program with multiple interceptions returned for touchdowns, joined by Tyler Holmes (2008-11), Anton McKenzie (2000-03) and Jerard White (1996-99).
• Rodgers is one of three active Minutemen with an interception returned for a touchdown, including senior cornerback Lee Moses and graduate student safety Brice McAllister.
• In the history of the program, 36 different players have returned at least one interception for a touchdown, including McAllister, Moses and Rodgers.
A Groundbreaking Athletic Trainer
• UMass football is one of 11 programs across FBS with a female primary athletic trainer. Director of Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer Jennifer Brodeur is in her 12th year with the department and 10th as the primary care-giver for football. In recognition of her success, Brodeur was named the Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year in June, 2013. She was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in August, 2017, and is one of only five females in her position as the leader of the sports medicine office as well as the football team's primary athletic trainer.
