Marcus Camby To Be Honored Saturday At Men's Basketball

Saturday's game vs. Saint Louis to feature Citizen Naismith Trophy celebration of UMass legend.
As part of the Atlanta Tipoff Club's celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Citizen Naismith Trophy, the University of Massachusetts is excited to welcome back UMass Hall of Famer Marcus Camby this Saturday for a special halftime ceremony during the Minutemen's game against Saint Louis (2 PM, Stadium/Facebook Live).
To highlight 50 years of the award that annually recognizes college basketball's most outstanding player, the Atlanta Tipoff Club is honoring every past recipient of the award that carries the name of Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of the game of basketball.
One of the all-time greats to play for the Minutemen, Camby won the award in 1996 as a driving force during the greatest era in UMass basketball history.
To help celebrate the day and Camby's return to the Mullins Center, UMass will be giving fans a limited number of throwback t-shirts bearing his number and the old script-U logo and will have contests to win exclusive Camby-autographed memorabilia. Additionally, the first 3,000 fans through the door will receive a Marcus Camby NBA Rookie Card. Finally, it's another Maroon Pant day as the Minutemen host the Billikens in a key Atlantic 10 match-up.
Doors open at 1 PM so fans are encouraged to get to the Mullins Center early!
