Men’s Swimming and Diving Finishes Third at Atlantic 10 Championships

Robert Barry wins three-meter dive; Oliver Wyeth posts NCAA B-Cut time in 200 back.

GENEVA, OhioRobert Barry won the three-meter dive to highlight the final day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships as UMass finished third overall. The Minutemen concluded the fourth day at the SPIRE Institute with seven Minutemen scoring in the evening finals session.
 
UMass finished the meet with 449 points overall. George Washington won the A-10 title with 562.5 points followed by La Salle which garnered 528 points.
 
Barry led a contingent of three finalists divers in the three-meter event. He won the finals round with a score of 297 points. His score of 315.90 points was a personal-best and the ninth-highest score in program history.
 
Oliver Wyeth turned in an NCAA B-cut performance in the 200 back with a time of 1-minute, 45.91 seconds placing third overall.
 
The day started with Harry Ortof swimming the eighth-fastest time at UMass in the 1,650 free as he recorded a time of 15-minutes, 54 seconds.
 
Other highlights included Kellen Gray taking fifth in the 200 back just ahead of Chris DiGiacomo who placed seventh. Ben Sloand placed eighth in the 200 fly to round out the finalists in the pool.
 
In the three-meter dive, Barry was joined in the finals by Trent Kindvall who took fourth and Reece Donahue who placed seventh.
