AMHERST, Mass. – The UMass Sports Luncheon Committee named junior wide receiver Andy Isabella, senior midfielder Matthew Mooney and senior Heather MacLean of women's cross country the UMass Student-Athletes of the Week after their performances last week.

Isabella tallied eight receptions for 152 yards and three touchdowns in the 44-31 victory over Maine in the Fenway Gridiron Series at Fenway Park on Saturday. Isabella scored twice in the first quarter on grabs of 12 and 69 yards and completed the touchdown trifecta with a 14-yard endzone grab in the third quarter. His first score was a 69-yard catch-and-run where Isabella used his speed to simply outrun the entire Maine secondary. It made it 14-7 Minutemen with 11:32 to go in the 1st. Isabella's second touchdown was a toe-tap score in the back-left corner of the endzone on a play where Isabella had to make the catch drag his feet behind the play to land in bound before maintaining the catch through hit the Fenway Park grass and rolling into the backstop. It capped off a 6-play, 59-yard drive and pushed the advantage to 21-7 with 1:02 left in the 1st. After Maine clawed back and tied it at 24-all with 10 minutes to go in the 3rd, Isabella put the Minutemen back in front with his final touchdown. It was a leaping score in the back-left corner of the endzone where the 5-foot-10, 195-pound Isabella went over-top of a Maine defender to haul in Andrew Ford's pass. Isabella's third TD made it 31-24 Massachusetts with 2:42 left in the third and the Minutemen held the lead from there for the win. His eight receptions were the most for Isabella on the season and tied with his career high, set last year against Wagner. The third touchdowns were the most for Isabella in his career and the most by a UMass receiver since the 2012 season.

Mooney was named the Atlantic 10 Championship Most Valuable Player after scoring the opening goal and assisting on the game-winning score in a 3-1 win over VCU in the title game. Mooney put UMass ahead 1-0 in the 55th-minute of Sunday's match with a shot between the VCU keeper and left post before picking up an assist in the 77th-minute on a goal that put the Minutemen ahead 2-1. The senior helped the Minutemen to an outright regular season title and a tournament title as UMass became the first team since Rutgers in 1991 to accomplish the feat in the Atlantic 10. In addition to his tournament honors, Mooney was named to both the Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News National Teams of the Week.

MacLean earned an automatic bid into next weekend's NCAA Championships as a result of her fifth-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships at Audubon Golf Course on Saturday. MacLean crossed the finish line on the 6K course in 21 minutes 38.0 seconds, a mere .8 seconds behind Providence's Catarina Rocha in fourth. The Peabody, Massachusetts, native earned a spot in next week's NCAA meet as one of the top-four individuals at the NCAA Regional not already qualifying with their respective teams. It marks the fifth time in program history that UMass will send an individual to the NCAA Championships and first time since 2001 as MacLean joins two-time NCAA qualifiers Kristin Cisowski (2000, 2001) and Rebecca Donaghue (1995, 1996).

Guest speakers on Wednesday at the luncheon will be football Head Coach Mark Whipple and Head Athletic Trainer Jennifer Brodeur.
