Hazard, Lecrone make 11 saves in loss to Huskies
The Huskies held a 2-0 advantage at halftime via goals from Amanda Collins and Casey Umstead in the 13th and 24th minutes, respectively. Following the break, Connecticut broke open the game with a series of three goals in a five-minute span. Antonia Tiedtke scored all three, which Collins and Umstead picked up assists on a pair of Tiedtke's tallies.
Massachusetts' top scoring opportunity came during the 44th minute, when Georgie McTear lined up an on-target try. However, Huskies goalkeeper Nina Klein made the necessary adjustments and preserved the clean sheet with her lone save of the game.
Emily Hazard started in goal for Massachusetts and made eight saves against seven goals allowed. Camille Lecrone relieved Hazard in the 57th minute and closed out the game with three stops and one goal given up.
Connecticut outshot Massachusetts, 26-5 and earned 10 penalty corners to a pair for the Minutewomen.
