Welcome to the new UMassAthletics.com!
 
Designed to be more user-friendly and mobile device-friendly than ever before – for University of Massachusetts Athletics fans everywhere – we invite you to click, watch and scroll through our new digital home.
 
Focusing on the management of our brand and the vehicles by which we present desirable content is a priority for our athletics department. This is especially important as the ever-expanding nature and excitement for technology and digital content continues to entice fans, alums and prospective student-athletes to the University of Massachusetts. In that way, we look at UMassAthletics.com as a one-stop asset, showing off the best of what the Minutemen and Minutewomen have to offer and welcoming the public to join in support of our exciting athletic brand.
 
"As the athletics department at the Commonwealth's Flagship University, we take tremendous pride in representing Massachusetts every day in the classroom, in competition and in the community," Director of Athletics Ryan Bamford said.

"Our brand is stronger than ever before and growing with the continued success of the young men and women in our program," Bamford added. "Having a website with extensive and in-depth content and an 'inside look' at UMass Athletics is important to our growing brand. Our future is bright and now we have an enhanced vehicle to showcase that richness. Welcome to the new UMassAthletics.com!"

Expanding Our Brand
In 2012, the "Power U" was initially introduced as a helmet logo for Massachusetts football. As popularity of the mark steadily grew, Massachusetts Athletics expanded the use of the "Power U" to all 21 sport programs and officially adopted it as the department's primary mark in 2015-16. For 2016-17, Massachusetts Athletics is expanding its logo library further, introducing new word marks, secondary marks and spirit marks in the style of the "Power U" that will strengthen brand identity. In conjunction with this move, the department will retire the previous "Sam the Minuteman", "UMass", "Massachusetts" and "UM" marks that were implemented in July 2003.

Join Us As We "Unite The Masses"
With the start of the 2016-17 competition year, Massachusetts Athletics unveiled its branding and marketing campaign that will span all 21 sports, and provide a unified banner for every student-athlete, fan, alum and friend to stand behind. "Unite The Masses" speaks to the both the mission of Massachusetts Athletics and the unique nature of what it means to be from the Commonwealth, a state with tremendous pride.
 
Many other teams wear uniforms that represent cities in the Commonwealth, or the region at large, but only one school represents Massachusetts in and of itself. "Unite The Masses" is a call to action for all citizens and constituents to rally behind the Minutemen and Minutewomen as they take the playing surface and compete to instill honor and prestige to the Commonwealth.
