Ingham Second at Holy Cross Decathlon

WORCESTER, Mass. - University of Massachusetts' men's track and field's Nick Ingham captured second place at the Holy Cross Decathlon, which finished its final day of competition in Worcester, Mass., on Thursday. Ingham's final score of 6,292 points was good for second in a field of 19.
The Peabody, Mass. native's 16.11-second finish in 110 meter hurdles led the crowd and earned 720 points. Ingham jumped 13 feet, 5.35 inches to tie for second in pole vault and earn an additional 645 points, which helped propel the senior up the standings after finishing day one's action in third.
Freshman Jonathan Collins nabbed sixth place with 6,093 points. Collins had a 17.41-second finish in 110 meter hurdles to earn 582 points. The Southwick, Mass. native also threw 113 feet, 5 inches in discus, good for 555 points.
The rest of the Minutemen return to the track Friday for the Larry Ellis Invitational. Competition is slated for Fri. Apr. 22 and Sat. Apr. 23 at Princeton University.
