Football Picked 4th In MAC East Preseason Poll

DETROIT, Mich. - The 2015 season officially kicked off on Wednesday as the Minutemen travelled to Detroit for the Mid-American Conference Media Day at Ford Field. As part of the day's festivities, the MAC release the preseason poll with UMass picked fourth in the East Division and sixth overall with 113 points. Additionally, the Minutemen received three first place votes.
UMass quarterback Blake Frohnapfel, linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox and head coach Mark Whipple represented the program at the annual event.
The day's activities included a slate of television interviews with ESPN, Time Warner Sports, CBS Sports and the Mid-American Conference. Both Frohnapfel and Whipple were guests on Sirius XM's Coast-To-Coast show in the morning as well. In the afternoon the trio answered questions from media including local MAC papers and USA Today.
The Minutemen will officially open preseason camp on August 17 at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. Season tickets are now on sale by calling 866-UMASS-TIX or visiting www.UMassAthletics.com/tickets.
