UMass' Stoyle Caps Off Standout Career At NCAA Prelims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The 2015 UMass women's track and field season wrapped up on Saturday with senior Becky Stoyle competing in the triple jump at the NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor East Preliminary Championship on the campus of the University of North Florida. In her third time competing in the meet, the Pembroke, Mass., native finished a career best 23rd our of 48 competitors with a leap of 40 feet, 11.5 inches.
Stoyle became the third three-time NCAA qualifier in UMass history when she posted her best mark in the triple jump of the 2015 outdoor campaign on her final attempt at ECAC Championship to earn Bronze in the event with a leap of 41 feet, 1.5 inches. After sustaining an injury during the 2015 indoor season, Stoyle battled back this spring and reached the podium in the triple jump at the Atlantic 10 Championship (second), the New England Championship (second) and the ECAC Championship (third).
Stoyle graduates as the UMass record holder in both the indoor and outdoor triple jump and won four A-10 titles (outdoor - 2013 & 2014, indoor - 2013 & 2014) and four New England titles (outdoor - 2013 & 2014, indoor - 2013 & 2014) in the event during her time in Amherst. She was named the Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Field Performer at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship in 2014.
