Benito, Yrazusta Advance to ITA Regionals Round Of 16 Doubles

HANOVER, N.H. - The third-seeded doubles pair of Carol Benito and Ana Yrazusta advanced to the Round of 16 following a pair of wins Friday at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Dartmouth. The duo will next play ninth-seed Kana Daniel and Sonya Latycheva of Penn for a shot at making the quarterfinals round.

Benito and Yrazusta opened Friday's action with an 8-4 win over Laura Holterbosch and Tanja Stojanovska of Buffalo. In the Round of 32, the pair defeated Sharlee Deshmukh and Stella Peisakhova of Niagara 8-0.

Also in action for the Minutewomen on Friday was Ruth Crawford and Anna Woosley who opened the day with an 8-6 win over Boston College's Emily Safron and Katya Vasilev who were seeded fifth in the main draw. The pair then fell to Dartmouth's Julienne Keong and Suzy Tan in the Round of 32.

In singles play which will start again on Saturday with the main draw Yrazusta will face 17th-seed Kristina Mathis of Dartmouth at 2 p.m. Woosley will face ninth-seed Valeria Salazar of Syracuse at 12:30 p.m., while Crawford will face Nadia Smergut of Stony Brook.
