* Today's game captains for UMass were QB Blake Frohnapfel and LB Stanley Andre.
* UMass adopted new team member, Jared Currier, 6, in conjunction with Team IMPACT.
* UMass won the coin toss and received.
* The Minutemen wore maroon pants, maroon jersey's and maroon helmets in the game.
* UMass returned to McGuirk Alumni Stadium for the first time since 2011 and drew a sold-out crowd of 17,000. The last time UMass sold out a game at McGuirk was against New Hampshire on Dec. 2, 2006, with 17,000.
* Coming off an injury, Shadrach Abrokwah made his first season start as running back.
* Jean Sifrin had a career long reception at 37 yards before finishing the day with eight catches for 135 yards.
* Frohnapfel throws to Jalen Williams for a career long reception of 60 yards for a touchdown in the 1st quarter. This was William's first touchdown reception.
* Jackson Porter made a 39-yard interception in the 1st quarter for his first career interception.
* Rodney Mills caught a 32-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. It marked Mills' fourth touchdown of the season.
* Shadrach Abrokwah's 1-yard TD run was his second career TD and his first of the season.
* Robert Kitching blocked an extra point attempt in the 2nd quarter. The last time UMass blocked an extra point attempt was at Kansas State, on Sept. 14, 2014 by Randall Jette.
* Frohnapfel finished with a career high passing total, going 36-of-61 for 589 yards and 5 touchdowns. He set the UMass record for passing yards in a single game at 589 yards. The previous record was held by Kyle Havens against New Hampshire on Oct. 23, 2010 with 450 yards. He set a career high for passing touchdowns with 5, his previous being 3 against Colorado on Sept. 6, 2014. He was sacked 5 times.
* Frohnapfel hit Alex Kenney for an 80 yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. This is a career long pass for Frohnapfel, his previous being 77 yards. It is also a career high in reception yards for Kenny.
* Sharpe has set career highs with 179 yards receiving in a single game, 13 receptions in a single game, and 2 touchdown receptions in a single game. He now has 1,410 receiving yards on 113 receptions in his three seasons at UMass
* The last time UMass combined with its opponent for more than 89 points was Nov. 1, 2009 at Hofstra, when they scored combined points of 100.
* The UMass defense collected three interceptions. Randall Jette had his third pick of the season, while Khary Baily-Smith and Jackson Porter also had one.
* UMass offense earned 29 first downs, which is the most since recording 30 against Fordham on Nov. 24, 2007.
* The UMass offense accounted for 638 yards on 92 plays. This is the highest since they got 649 yards against Fordham on Nov. 24, 2007.
