Sept. 24, 2014 AMHERST, Mass. - UMass tennis' Anna Woosley was announced as the UMass Athlete of the Week on Wednesday morning. Woosley competed in the Brown Invitational during the weekend Sept. 19-21, when the sophomore contributed strong performances in singles and doubles matches.

Alongside freshman Isabel Balsavage, the duo ignited the momentum for the Minutewomen, winning back-to-back doubles matches over Rhode Island and Rutgers in the Terrier Flight, 8-4, 8-0, respectively.

Woosley continued her winning style into her singles matches when she defeated Rutgers' Mariam Zein, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, in a come-from-behind first round victory of the White Flight. The West Sussex, England, native went on to win the second round and defeated Emma Burgess of Providence, 6-3, 7-6 (5).
