Construction on the University of Massachusetts basketball Champions Center has taken off in the last month, with steel beams and concrete walls being added daily.
The three primary sections of the facility are visible now, with the construction crane occupying the area that will be the two basketball practice courts for both the men's and women's programs. The area on the north side of the facility for the locker rooms and athletic training rooms, along with mechanical elements is also showing signs of its sizes. And the south side of the structure that will have the office suites (second floor) and strength & conditioning and dining sections (first floor) is also receiving a good amount of structural support and definition.
