UMass Women's Soccer Falls At Richmond, 2-0

RICHMOND, Va. - Redshirt sophomore Danielle Kriscenski tied a career high with 10 saves as the UMass women's soccer team fell at Richmond, 2-0 on Friday night at Robins Stadium. The Minutewomen are now 5-8-4 on the season, 3-3-1 in the Atlantic 10, while the Spiders improve to 9-7-2 overall and 3-2-2- in conference matches.
In the 16th minute, Kriscenski stopped Meaghan Carrigan on a breakaway. However, Ashley Riefner was there to put in the rebound from eight yards out at the near post to give Richmond a 1-0 advantage.
Carrigan later added the Spiders' second of the night shortly after the second half was under way. She collected the ball off a blocked Ashley Williams' shot and scored her 14th of the season from 15 yards out.
Sophomore Alyssa Fratarcangeli finished with five of UMass' eight shots on the evening as the Minutewomen were out-shot, 26-8 in the match. UMass led in corner kicks, 7-2, while fouls were 11-5, against Richmond.
The Minutewomen will wrap up the regular season at Davidson on Sunday, Nov. 2, with a 3 p.m. match against the Wildcats.
