UMass Lands Seven On Hockey East All-Academic Team

AMHERST, Mass. - Seven members of the 2012-13 UMass hockey team have been named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Tuesday. The Minutemen were among the list of 99 individuals who achieved grade point averages of 3.0 or higher in each of the two academic periods during the 2012-13 hockey season.
Goaltender Jeff Teglia collected his third career honor, while rising senior forward Michael Pereira and defensemen Peter DeAngelo, Colin Shea and Oleg Yevenko were all recognized for the second time in their careers.
Rising sophomore Evan Stack earned a spot on the Hockey East Academic All-Star Team, holding one of the top GPAs at the forward position in the league, 3.97. K.J. Tiefenwerth made the list, as well.
