AMHERST, Mass. - UMass men's swimming freshman Michael Glenn has been named Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Rookie of the Week, following his performance at the Rhode Island Invitational this past weekend. Glenn has now received the honor three times this season, most of any freshman. The only other person to receive the honor more than once is UMass' own Hao Luong.
Glenn had a standout performance at the Rhode Island Invitational finishing in the top-three in three different individual events. He was able to finish second in the 200-yard breaststroke touching the wall with a time of 2:12.86. The Overland Park, Kan. native also finished third in both the 200 and 400-yard IM with times of 1:57.80 and 4:12.98, respectively.
Glenn and the Minutemen will be back in action this Friday as they travel to Smithfield, R.I. to take on the Bryant Bulldogs in a 5:00 p.m. meet.
