Podlofsky Named UMass Athlete Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - Jessica Podlofsky, a sophomore on the UMass women's Tennis Team earned UMass Athlete of the Week honors after her impressive performance at the Eastern Collegiate Invitational at Army this past weekend. Podlofsky is currently undefeated in her singles matches this year.
Podlofsky, as the No. 4 seed in Flight B, went 4-0 for the second weekend in a row, improving to a perfect 8-0 with two tournament titles on the season. The sophomore defeated Atlantic 10 foe Marissa Brossard of St. Bonaventure in the finals, 7-5, 6-3.
Last week at the Harvard Fall Classic, Podlofsky went 4-0 to win the Flight B singles title.
This week's Sport's Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at 12:15 p.m. in the Cape Cod Lounge located in the Student Union. John McCutcheon and Kevin Morris will be the guest speakers for the event.
