ORLANDO, Fla. - A pair of McKauly Tulloch goals in the first half proved decisive as the No. 16 UCF Knights defeated the UMass men's soccer team 2-0 in Orlando on Friday night.
The Minutemen (0-2) will continue their Florida road swing on Sunday at Jacksonville. Game time at the Ashley Sports Complex was originally slated for 7 PM, but was moved earlier this week to an 8 PM kick-off.
Tulloch tallied his first goal in the 21st minute of play after receiving a cross from Leonardo Ayala. Eight minutes later, he scored his second of the game placing a shot into the far right corner of the goal giving UCF (2-0) a 2-0 lead.
Both teams battled through a scoreless second half despite a total of six yellow cards being handed out (4 on UMass and 2 on UCF).
The Golden Knights outshot UMass 8-to-5 for the game and earned one more corner (5-to-4) than the Minutemen.
