Men's Soccer Drops Season Opener 3-0 At Delaware

NEWARK, Del. -
Delaware's Evan Frimpong scored twice and goalie Brandon Paul earned a shutout as the Blue Hens downed the UMass men's soccer team 3-0 on Friday afternoon in the season opener for both teams.
UMass will return to action next weekend when the Minutemen head to UCF and Jacksonville.
With the result, UMass starts the season 0-1-0, while Delaware improves to 1-0-0.
Along with Frimpong, Chas Wilson tallied a goal in the win.
Bryant Craft led UMass with three shots, while Hellah Sidibe and David Key each had two. Brian Frame earned the start in goal, the first of his career, making five saves.
Delaware outshot UMass 13-to-7 for the game. Frimpong scored his first goal of the game at the 8:13 mark of the first half. He scored again four minutes into the second half, while Wilson potted his goal in the 76th minute.
