In an effort to enhance the online experience of UMass fans, the Athletic Department has implemented several new upgrades to UMassAthletics.com as well as several mobile options to keep fans up-to-date with the Minutemen and Minutewomen. Additionally, UMass is pleased to offer fans the ability to purchase DVD's of our CBS3 Now televised games which are high-quality, multi-camera productions aired live in Western Massachusetts.
With so many fans following the Minutemen on Facebook and Twitter, UMass has added both to the front page of UMassAthletics.com in an effort to provide as much real-time content as possible. The Twitter component of the upgrade is a feed of all UMass Athletics' accounts providing one-stop access to breaking information.
The new Social Media Page on UMassAthletics.com offers fans a listing of all Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages for the department and various athletic teams. It also features a listing of all 9 websites run by UMass Athletics and our partners along with a YouTube plugin featuring the most recent eight videos.
For fans on the go, UMass has also launched a new mobile stats platform which can work with Internet-capable devices providing real-time, live statistics. Links can be found in game previews on UMassAthletics.com or by scanning Quick Response (QR) Barcodes on game programs. Fans can also download the GameTracker Mobile App for BlackBerry and Android-powered phones. UMassAthletics.com and CBS Sports also offer text messaging service which will send fans headlines and final scores for free (standard text messaging rates apply from your service provider).
Fans can now purchase high-quality game DVD's through the UMass DVD Store for just $9.99 (plus shipping) from our CBS3 Now television broadcasts. UMass is pleased to be one of the few schools in the country to offer televised games to our fans for nearly every sport thanks to our partnership with CBS3 Now.
UMass Athletics strives to provide fans with the most engaging content possible via social media, our official website, feature videos and television programming. This past year, UMass has expanded the UMass Sports Network to include live television broadcasts in addition to the statewide radio network. UMassAthletics.com is continually one of the top-50 websites in the CBS College Sports network of schools.
