Tennis Loses Heartbreaker at #40 Yale, 6-1

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass tennis team (3-2) fell to the #40 Yale Bulldogs (5-2), 6-1, on Saturday at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Club in New Haven, Conn. Yale continued its win streak vs. UMass to fourteen straight, while senior Boney was able to climb the ranks in the UMass record books tying for fifth all-time in singles match wins at 51 in her four year tenure at UMass.
In their doubles matches, Boney/ Comas (4-8), Motyl/ Swiszcz (4-8), and Carpenter/ Providence (2-8) all had their hands tied in their losses.
During the singles matches, Boney was able to capture the lone victory in a three-set match vs. Blair Seideman, 6-4,0-6, 10-8.

The UMass tennis team continues their spring on the road in West Point, N.Y., in a three-way match, with Army on Friday, Feb.18, Farleigh Dickinson on Saturday, Feb. 19, and Bryant on Sunday, Feb. 20. UMass' next home match is on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Bay Road Tennis Club at Hampshire College at 1230 p.m.
