AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass men's swimming and diving team fell to Yale, Saturday, 176-112. Russ Yarworth's Minutemen were only able to finish first in one event on the day. The men are now 1-2 head-to-head against Yale, and 2-2-1 on the season.

The Minutemen picked up a few second-place finishes over the course of the meet. The 200 medley relay team of Colin Mulcahy, Timothy Gladyshev, Chris Inglis and Peter Sacco touched the wall at 1:35.28. Mulcahy also finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (52.37).

Troy Nichols place second in the 100 freestyle finishing with a time of 47.92. Joey Sbordon captured third in both the 500 free and 1000 free with times of, 4:43.84 and 9:53.92, respectively.

Conor Dunn captured the lone first-place finish on the day in the one-meter diving event with a score of 288.38. He also placed fourth in the three-meter dive behind Alexander Merkulov who finished with a score of 284.55.

The men will take a month off and travel down to San Juan, Puerto Rico for their annual training trip on Jan. 8. They will then return to action on the mainland when they travel to the Rhode Island Invitational on Jan 13.
