Minuteman Ranked No. 22 In CSCAA Mid-Major Poll

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass men's swimming and diving program is ranked at No. 22 in the first CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Division 1 poll of the 2011-12 season. Russ Yarworth lead his Minutemen to a 2-2-1 in dual-meets and finished fourth of eight at the Terrier Invitational. The Minutewomen are among those receiving consideration, outside the top-25.
Of the Minutemen's opponents this season only Army and Boston University are in the top-25, with Army ranked at No. 6 and BU at No. 24. Binghamton and Bryant are both receiving consideration, outside the top-25.
Three other Atlantic 10 programs are either ranked or receiving consideration. St. Bonaventure is ranked No. 23, while Fordham and Xavier lie outside the top-25.
The Minutemen will held down to Puerto Rico for their annual winter-training trip on Jan. 9. They return to action on the mainland on Jan. 13-14 when they head to Kingston, R.I. for the Rhode Island Invitational.
