Cheerleading Tryouts Set For May 9

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass cheerleading team will hold its 2010 tryouts on May 9 at the Curry Hicks Cage. Come out and show off your skills and spirit in support of the Minutemen. The event begins at 3 p.m., contact coach Robin Farr for more information at robinf@admin.umass.edu.

2010 CHEERLEADING TRY OUTS
Try outs for the 2010 falll season will take place in the Curry Hicks Cage May 9, 2010 from 3pm -7pm.
3:00PM-3:15PM
Registration and medical release forms completed. Medical release forms will be provided when you register. Please have proof of medical insurance with you.
3:15PM - 5:30PM
At this time you will have an opportunity to work on stunting and tumbling skills required for tryouts.
5:30PM - 7:00PM
Evaluations will take place. Everyone participating will be informed through email of the results.
REQUIREMENTS
Standing tumbling: Standing back tuck /strong standing back handspring Series tumbling: Round off back handspring back tuck / strong round off back handspring Jumps: single toe touch, double toe touch, pike, hurdler (side/front), any two jump combination with no prep in between Stunts: All side bases and back spots will be required to base elite single leg stunts with double downs. All flyers will be required to show all single leg skills with double downs (stretch, aero, scale, scorp, bow and arrow)
