Novices Finish 12th At Green Monster Regatta

HANOVER, N.H. - The UMass rowing novices competed at the Green Monster Regatta on the campus of Dartmouth University last weekend. The Minutewomen entered two boats into the 8+ race, finishing 12th and 13th. Massachusetts only has one race remaining on the fall schedule, which is scheduled for this Saturday at the Foot of the Charles in Boston. Both the varsity and novice teams are expected to participate.
The novices raced against tough competition last weekend, with teams from Dartmouth, Boston College, MIT and Holy Cross all entering boats in the race. The first UMass boat crossed the finish with a time of 17:13.10, nearly a minute away from a top-ten finish. The UMass B boat was right at the heels of its teammate, placing 13th with a time of 17:26.50.
